Second Year
I hold a BSc in Digital Media / Computer Science from the University of Bremen, Germany with some time spent in Sweden. Last year I was a Design London Felllow at Imperial College's Business School joining the MBA program's course on design-led innovation and entrepreneurship. My previous professional experiences include co-founding a design consultancy, leading a team of software developers, working in a research lab for medical image computing and most recently working with the foresight and innovation department of a global engineering consultancy.
In my opinion existing problem-solving strategies relying solely on science are only limited applicable to the kind of "wicked" problems, which we might be facing with converging and rapidly advancing NBIC (Nano/Bio/Information/Cognitive) technologies. By embracing human values and being comfortable with high degrees of uncertainty, I see design as a possible way of inventing better futures. While being uncertain about what better means in this context, I am optimistic and love to explore a wide range of possibilities at the fringes of possible futures.
